The HR question that keeps me awake at night

Updated: Jan 15, 2020

I have a lot of unconventional ideas how to do things differently in the field of people management.

But there is this one question that causes sleepless nights: How to reward people for cognitive work based on the quality of their output instead of hours?

Instead of finding an answer, I find more and bigger questions:

How to measure the quality of output?

And how translate this into a monetary value?

Which leads me to the question: How to define the value of work in general?

Is our capitalistic system future proof (a future in which human qualities will make the difference and highly cognitive work can’t be translated into working hours)?

Just a thought before the weekend.
